I purchased this book in order to continue the story started with Banished Love. I enjoyed that book so much I bought this one. Well after this one I bought the next 3. I look forward to reading them. I definitely like the subject. And this story shows that it is possible to write a very good story and a very good series of books without resorting to the use of profanity. The writing is good. It is hard to put down because you want to know what is going to happen next. It is really a story and a series of books centered around the women's suffrage movement. It also paints a picture of what life was like for many women during that time that encouraged the rise of this movement. It also shows the impact on the lives of not only women; but children and men too. It wasn't only men that stood in the way of women's rights but women too. It also shows that some of the women in the suffrage movement didn't necessarily want it for all women. Some thought it more important for the affluent or those not identified as immigrant. This is actually a love story between Clarissa a suffragette and Gabriel McLeod which the author uses to tell the story of the suffrage movement and about life for women, children, men, and immigrants. It also talks about the division between the affluent and the less affluent. It is very well done. I look forward to reading the next volumes.Product details

I have read 3.5 of these books and enjoyed every one . I always have finishing a good one but don't want to pay any more. Mandy later.
So much happened in this well written book! Gripping the reader, as page after page wove the plot in the author's masterful way, I couldn't put it down! Off to buy book 4.
Who would have thought modern topics of stalking, domestic violence, prescription drug misuse and arson all wrapped up in one part of a riveting, 100-year-old saga!
Many families intertwined by history, society and even love. The supports of true friendship help many of the characters throughout this saga learn to navigate life on their terms. Success is not defined by the level of social status each has achieved, but by the self respect and love each has developed as they lived a life they chose.
This is a great read . The eV storyline was full of surprises . Ramon a Flight er knows how to weave a story and keep the readers interest. I highly recommend this series starting with book one.
I have loved this entire series. Each book ends but not leaving you hanging but just wanting more. While I'm a little younger than the characters even when I married, women were not allowed to make a contract without a man signing it too and many were not allowed to own property in some areas. Spousal abuse was still very common and the police always took the man's view of any events that had lead up to an injury. It's not been that long ago. I can relate to these women.
I have become a huge fan of Flightner's Banished Saga. It has been a long time since an author's writing has so capture my interest that I actually went beyond the first free e-book to purchase and read the entire series! Her characters are so rich and the plot so enthralling as she leads us through the ties that bind the McLeod, Sullivan and Russell families. She tackles many difficult issues that were at pertinent at the turn of the century as the are today showing how the characters recover from pain and loss to go on and lead rich full lives. Along with the drama and mystery there is humor too. I love Mr. Pickings and have had many a laugh over his antics and sayings. If you are a fan of historical romance, this is a series not to be missed!!
