Brian Hughes' anthology Where is the One? Is a hauntingly eclectic mix of character, ethos and pathos. This book was fantastic from the first story to the last story! You will find characters you hate, characters you love and characters you love to hate. If you are looking for a book that holds your attention, this is it! Hughes left me wanting more. I cannot wait to read more of his stuff.
I love this book. I love the references he has in the stories. They are very relatable. When reading his work I could picture the characters doing exactly what he is describing on that page. The characters he comes up you end up growing to love by the end of the stories. I would recommend this book to everyone I know. The twelve short stories will have you laugh, cry, feel bad for the character or have hope for them.
This is a must read. It's a journey I am thankful I took. This is not my typical read. I am more a Mystery, Horror reader. This book has opened me up to a whole new world. I love it!! I recommend it to anyone looking for something new, different, and intriguing. I look forward to Brian Hughes next book.
If you're looking for an end of summer read, this is the book for you. Each short story is a journey in to the minds and hearts of flawed characters who will not only touch you but may make you think of your own foibles. Hughes knows how flesh out a character that leaves you wanting to learn more. Highly recommend
